What sort of photographs do i want?

Well now, by this i mean reportage, classical, and candid i try and incorporate all 3 into a wedding, but the balance is down to the customer.

Classical Wedding Photography example:
classical wedding photography
I think every photographer has his own interpretation of the styles of
photography, this is what i would call a “classical” wedding photo.

The couple looking into the camera and posed by the photographer. This could be made more “reportage” by the couple walking to or away from the photographer and not looking into the lens.

Reportage Wedding Photography  This photograph i took in surrey, is what i would class as a reportage
Natalie was unaware of me taking the picture, as she was getting ready for getting out the car, I used the various doors of the car to bring you into her world…
this is usually taken with a slightly longer lens, this gives a slight
“paparazzi” type shot.

 Candid Wedding Photography

i think candid and reportage can be similar, i think reportage as being a little bit more unobtrusive, were i think candid can be taken fairly closely, its just making sure you capture a natural event, and quickly!

Where the line blurs…..
By this i mean you can take posed “classical style photos with a “reportage” feel, this again of Natalie was
given a more reportage feel by making her walk toward me just coming out of a pose, i like this style of photo and i like her confident pose with her head slightly looking upwards

I also like this one where Martin and Julie were slightly underconfident, so i posed them and made them laugh, so its got a bit more “real” feel to stiff posed photo
