Jason & Sally’s Wedding

July 15, 2009 by bridgehouseweddings

Today, i woke and the weather was awful!!! it was a Wednesday, Jason and Sally were both getting ready at Centre Parcs in Mansfield, and the Reception at Rufford Abbey.

It didnt seem to want to stop raining!. I met Sallys mom and Dad and jasons mom first, who were great, i had a chat and a cuppa before getting to work, then i met Jason along with their
boys, Sam Josh and Ben (Sorry William!!! please see below comment*), Sam unfortunately had broken his leg badly a few weeks earlier!  it was nice and relaxed and the rain was stopping!

Then “drumroll” the bride….. Well i’d been asked , have u met sally before? “no” i replied, ahhh well your in for a treat…. i was intrigued…
Sally was running a little late and was accompanied by Jasons daughter Emily,  As soon as we met, she made me laugh, i knew i was in for a different day!

After we got off to Rufford, (i was trying to get used to my new car too…) we took a few shots with Sallys Dad Paul, and Emily, I met 2 of the best ladies from a venue yet, Normally photographers dont seem to be very popular with venues/registrars/vicars…etc! its not me honest!

But the girls at rufford abbey were lovely and helpful!

the ceremony went well and we all trundled off to take some more piccys, Throughout the day, i got the feeling that these 2 hadnt had things 100% easy, Second timers and all that, and i learnt they hadnt, but was was lovely was all the kids got a long famously, and Jason and Sally really appreciated each other, they had real fun but they knew through life/mistakes whatever they were very much in love and it was nice to be a part of.

Talk about laugh though, i dont think ive ever done a photo of a couple “spanking” each other before, i dont think i will again!

We spoke on the phone today, and i love it when you can have a laugh a cry and deep conversation all in one, ( all you people who are thinking of phoning, i wont be too deep ‘onest!)
but its nice when you connect with people, and you understand why they are who they are ( if that makes sense?)

All i’d like to say is thanks Guys, i certainley wont forget your day in a hurry!!! speak soon ….. (and thanks for the lovely comment below!!!, Tracey is at this time laughing her head off that someone thinks im cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Jade & Richard’s Wedding

June 27, 2009 by bridgehouseweddings

I had the pleasure of photographing Jades Moms Wendy wedding a few years ago,  and it was great to get to photograph Jades day too! It’s nice on weddings where youve been recommended or you know the people, sure theres as much pressure, sometimes moreso, but its nice when they know how you work!

Jade and Richard got married at a venue called the Izaak walton hotel,  in  derbyshire, really nice and relaxed, It was fun to see Jades family again too.
heres a few piccys of the day. take care guys and speak soon!

Moni and Sachin’s Wedding

June 20, 2009 by bridgehouseweddings

Well, South Croyden was a long way away from mansfield!  traffic was a nightmare, it was one of them weddings, where you knew nothing was going to be easy!

I’d met Moni before she’d been recommended by another couple i’d photographed a few years ago, and we met in bham she is a lovely lady, real fun. It was to be an Indian wedding,
ive done them before,  but this was all indoor…

As a wedding photographer your constantly challenged by things, some wedding are easier than others, but i dont mind a challenge!
Hard parts were as it was indoor, lightings a problem, but it was soon sorted you just find a plan and work with it, Sachin Moni’s hubby, was a really nice guy i felt really at ease with him even though we just met you just kind of get a feel for people. bless him he looked terrified at one point!

Also moni’s brother, JK one of the nicest people ive met, genuine kind and really helpful, and a mad james bond fan!

Ive rarely been looked after as well as Moni and Sachin looked after me, im really thankful of that……

Hopefully keep in touch!

Well now, this was a special wedding for me, Many years ago i worked with Dave (he had just left school i think) but  we always had fun he was a real great bloke.
Sadly he lost both his parents a few years ago, and we saw each other in a restaurant, and thats where i was introduced to Gem.

Ken & Jess

September 27, 2008 by bridgehouseweddings

Well, it was another couple i’d never met before the actual wedding day, But Ken was sooo easy to get along with, felt like i’d known him for ages, Venue was wroxall abbey in warwickshire, lovely venue, the church/chapel is in the same grounds too, and the vicar was the best out of all the weddings i have ever done! (Yes he went on a little,) but he was just great.

Jess was great too, a gal from Oregon USA, ive done a couple of American brides this year, Jess was perfect to work with, natural with the camera, a real fun girl they seemed really great together, at no time was nipping off and taking pictures a problem, the sunlight was really harsh during the day, and Im glad they paid extra for me to stay longer, because the light moved round and we had some lovely shots and the light was perfect. The whole day was just great and relaxed, i felt very welcomed, by both friends and familes.

thank you very much!

Katy & Marc

September 13, 2008 by bridgehouseweddings

Well the lovely Katy, we hit it off immediatley, great girl, met her a couple of weeks before the wedding, to go over things, on the day, weather was great she had a couple of probs with the dress :)  but all went well, i think emotions got the better of Katy, but you sometimes have to guide people and help them, The reception was a nice intimate venue, blackbrook house, derbyshire. thanks guys!

Fliss & Phil

September 7, 2008 by bridgehouseweddings

My Lovely friend Kate, who i do some work for, recommended me to Fliss & Phil, they were getting married in South Shields,Newcastle, right on the coast, well this was the week where it was torrential rain, and the marquee where the reception was, was flooded….. but there was a nice reception room for them instead, weather was quite nice on the day, and we managed to get on the beach even though it was a bit cool and blustery!!!  My friend Kate was a bridesmaid so it was fun to have time to have a laugh as well as work!

Fliss and Phil were a pleasure to work with, really fun and friendly, i really like the pix
